    CrossFit is defined as constantly varied, functional movement completed at high intensity.
  • Is CrossFit safe?
    Yes! CrossFit training is very safe, and is a great way to strengthen your body to prevent injuries. At CrossFit Heysham, credentialed trainers provide precise instructions and coaching to help you move safely and efficiently. This helps people avoid all the diseases that come from inactivity, obesity and poor nutrition.
  • Can my grandparents do CrossFit?
    Absolutely! Everyone can do CrossFit regardless of age, injuries and current fitness levels. Every workout is adapted for each person to help him or her safely become healthier and fitter.
  • Will CrossFit help improve the way I look?
    Definitely! CrossFit is a great way to get in shape. However, we are more focused on what you can do with your body rather than what you look like. By adopting a more performance based mindset to your training you will see huge results as a product of your hard work.
  • How will CrossFit make me fitter?
    CrossFit improves general physical preparedness (GPP). CrossFit Heysham designs the training programs to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible. CrossFit is not a specialized fitness program but a method to optimize physical competence in each of 10 fitness domains: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.
  • Will paper towels and sanitiser be available for members?
    Yes, every member will be given a bottle of sanitiser to use after touching any of the gym equipment.
  • What are you doing to keep the equipment and facilities clean?
    The facilities are professionally cleaned as well as ensuring members wipe down all of their equpment with sanitiser.
  • How do I join?
    Just fill out the Contact Us form and a member of our team will be in contact with you on how to join!
  • Can I delay the start of my membership?
    Absolutely! Just speak to us using the contact us form, by calling us, or by popping in.
  • Can I bring a friend?
    The more the merrier! Chat with our head coach, Lewis, to confirm when.
  • Is there a joining fee?
    No! We have a no joining fee, no cancellation fee and no other unexpected fees policy!
  • What if I want to pause or cancel my membership?
    We are committed to giving our members the best experience we can, and that extends to making our pausing and cancellation policies as simple and accommodating as possible. Pause your membership anytime for £15 a month for up to 90 days by speaking to our head coach, or to cancel simply give us one month's notice. No nasty cancellation fees, and no joining fees for when you want to come back either! Visit our support center for more information.
  • How do I get to the gym?
    We have signposted the gym and you can find its exact location here. However, if you have any trouble finding us or any accessibility needs give us a call or pop us a message through our Contact Us form so we can help you reach us.
  • What are the classes like?
    We have carefully created a schedule of classes that you can check out in our timetable, including technique-focused foundations classes, CrossFit and Strength sessions. Our head coach, Lewis, will be happy to talk you through all the details and answer all of your questions. Send us a message or give us a call now!
  • Is personal training available?
    Yes! Whatever your need, we are here to help you achieve lasting results.
  • Are there changing facilities and showers?
    We have separate female and male changing and shower rooms.
  • Is there on site parking?
    We do!
  • What if I need help while I’m in the gym?
    There will always be a qualified coach in the gym during open hours. Whatever you need, we are here to help.
